Call to Worship Psalm 30 v1-5 Cathy

1 I will exalt you, Lord,

    for you lifted me out of the depths

    and did not let my enemies gloat over me.

2 Lord my God, I called to you for help,

    and you healed me.

3 You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;

    you spared me from going down to the pit.

4 Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people;

    praise his holy name.

5 For his anger lasts only a moment,

    but his favor lasts a lifetime;

weeping may stay for the night,

    but rejoicing comes in the morning

Faithful one, so unchanging

Ageless one, You're my rock of peace

Lord of all I depend on You

I call out to You

Again and again

I call out to You

Again and again

You are my rock in times of trouble

You lift me up when I fall down

All through the storm, Your love is

The anchor, My hope is in You alone

Anna's Update

2 Corinthians 8 v 7-15. Annette

7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you[a]—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

8 I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

10 And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. 11 Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. 12 For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

13 Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. 14 At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, 15 as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”[b]

STF 416 Theres a wideness in God's mercy

https://youtu.be/26cyYoBqiQ8

There's a wideness in God's mercy

like the wideness of the sea;

there's a kindness in his justice,

which is more than liberty.

There is welcome for the sinner,

and more graces for the good;

there is mercy with the Savior;

there is healing in his blood.

There is no place where earth's sorrows

are more felt than in heaven;

there is no place where earth's failings

have such kind judgment given.

There is plentiful redemption

in the blood that has been shed;

there is joy for all the members

in the sorrows of the Head.

For the love of God is broader

than the measure of man's mind;

and the heart of the Eternal

is most wonderfully kind.

If our love were but more faithful,

we should take him at his word;

and our life would be thanksgiving

for the goodness of the Lord.

Mark 5 v21-34 Cathy.        New International Version

Jesus Raises a Dead Girl and Heals a Sick Woman

Jesus in Capernaum, Galilee.

21 When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. 22 Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. 23 He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” 24 So Jesus went with him.

A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”

31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Mark 5 v 35-43 Mary

35 While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?”

36 Overhearing[a] what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” 40 But they laughed at him.

After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. 43 He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

STF 545 Be thou my vision
https://youtu.be/Optrm7lF16s

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;

Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art

Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,

Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;

I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;

Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;

Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;

Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;

Thou my soul's Shelter, Thou my high Tower:

Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,

Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:

Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,

High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,

May I reach Heaven's joys, O bright Heaven's Sun!

Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,

Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Prayers of Intercession Sue S.

Prayers for others 27/6/21

Faithful one, so unchanging.  Ageless one you’re our rock of peace.  Lord of all, we depend on you, and our hope is in you alone.

Dear Lord, we come into your presence, before your throne of grace. We know and believe that you are all powerful and have authority over everything, so we come before you to bring our prayers for others.

We pray for our world and for all the governments.

We pray for our country, and ask you to bring revival.  We pray for your blessing and guidance for our leaders.

We pray for our church and our church family. Lord we ask that you will continue to bless us, and help and guide us as we endeavour to carry on your work. Please be our vision and may your Holy Spirit lead us and glow in our hearts.

We pray for the pre-school who are closing next month. It is so sad, and we pray and ask that all the staff will find new jobs that they will love as much as this one.

We are thinking today in our service about your wonderful healing power and Lord we bring before you all those who have asked for prayers for their loved ones. You know all about these prayer requests and we lift these dear people before you, into your healing power and loving care. We bring Brian Gutberlet before you and also Anne. Please have them in your care.

We will just have a moments silence now while we think of and pray in our hearts for those known to us who need you.

Thank you Lord, please surround them with your peace, healing and love.

We bring Colin and Cathy before you and pray that you will continue to lead and guide them in their work for you.  We pray for the wedding of their daughter next Tuesday.  We pray your blessing on Rebekah and Spencer and ask you to bless their future with love and happiness.  We pray that you will be present there and that everyone will enjoy a wonderful wedding day celebration, even with all the restrictions that are still in place.

We thank you for all answered prayer and for everything that you have blessed us with this week.

We bring these prayers to you from our hearts and are assured that you hear us. Your word in Philippians tells us - ‘Our God will meet all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus’.  We thank you for that promise and so bring these prayers before you in Jesus’ name and according to His glorious riches.  AMEN

SOF 1105  We want to see Jesus lifted high

https://youtu.be/WLJmRPvhgdo

We want to see Jesus lifted high

A banner that flies across this land

That all men might see the truth and know

He is the way to heaven

We want to see, we want to see

We want to see Jesus lifted high

We want to see, we want to see

We want to see Jesus lifted high

Step by step, we're moving forward

Little by little, taking ground

Every prayer a powerful weapon

Strongholds come tumbling down and down and down and down

We're gonna see, we're gonna see

We're gonna see Jesus lifted high

We're gonna see, we're gonna see

We're gonna see Jesus lifted high

Benediction
